The studies start 11.8.2025. The studies can take 1–2 years. You plan the length of your studies together with your teacher.
- Basic education, introductory phase is for you if you have not obtained sufficient basic education in your home country and if you don’t know any or know very little Finnish.
- The purpose of the studies is that you learn Finnish and general knowledge enough to be able to study at the basic education, final phase, or get employed.
- You also learn more about life in the Finnish society. In addition to Finnish language the studies consist of subjects studied in the basic education. On-the-job-learning is included in the studies too.
- The guidance counselor and the teachers guide you in many ways.
Admission requirements and how to apply
The application period for the training is 1.4.–16.5.2025. You can apply online or fill in an application on paper.
The customers of Työllisyyspalvelut apply to the training at Työllisyyspalvelut 1.–16.5.2025.
You must be over 17 years old. You must know how to read and write.
If you don’t know any Finnish, you study in a beginner’s group. If you already know some Finnish, you study in a continuation group according to your level.
Costs
The studies are free of charge.
You can loan the books from the school.
The lunch is free of charge on the school days (from Monday to Friday).
