Who is this programme for?

  • International learners aged 16+ who are planning further studies in Finland.
  • Applicants living abroad or legally residing in Finland.
  • Learners ready for intensive Finnish study and structured academic preparation.

What will you study?

01  Intensive Finnish Build confidence in Finnish through intensive language studies that develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills for real-life situations, further studies and working life. 02  Study skills for Finland Develop the academic, digital and collaborative skills with Finnish language needed to succeed in Finnish higher education.
03  Applied Sciences studies Gain experience of Finnish higher education through selected University of Applied Sciences courses and authentic learning environments. 04  Individual guidance Work with advisors to create a personalised study pathway and a realistic plan for your future studies and career in Finland.
Selected Applied Sciences studies Students may participate in selected credit-bearing, non-degree University of Applied Sciences courses when appropriate within language skill. Course selection is based on the individual study plan, learner readiness, prerequisites and availability. No minimum or fixed ECTS amount can be guaranteed.

Your possible pathway

  • Work towards CEFR B1: While B1 is the target level, motivated students who invest additional time and effort in their language development may achieve even higher levels of proficiency.
  • Experience higher education: Complete selected Applied Sciences studies when suitable and available.
  • Prepare for degree applications: Apply separately under the eligibility and admission criteria in force at that time.
  • Keep other routes open: Develop practical and formal Finnish language skills that can be applied across a variety of educational and career pathways. Whether your next step leads to vocational education, higher education, employment or another opportunity, the programme helps you make informed choices about your future in Finland.
